Traditional Metal Braces
Orthodontic braces can correct crooked and crowded teeth, a misaligned bite and jaw problems. They can also eliminate problems you may have with eating, speaking properly or keeping your teeth clean. Traditional braces are the most common type of braces. Over the years, they have become smaller, sleeker and more comfortable to wear.
Traditional braces consist of standard metal brackets that are adhered to your teeth and are connected by a wire. They require periodic tightening so pressure can gradually align your teeth.
The amount of time you need to wear your braces depends on your individual case. Typically, people will wear their braces from one to three years. Once they are removed, you will need to wear a retainer to make sure your teeth do not shift out of position over time.

Ceramic Braces (clear)
Unlike traditional braces, not all braces are made from metal. There are several other options that are more invisible or at least transparent. Ceramic braces are made of composite materials. They come in varying levels of transparency so you can have ceramic braces that mimic the color of your natural teeth.
Ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. These braces allow a less obvious look while straightening your teeth.
Just like traditional braces, at each appointment, our orthodontist may tighten the wires to create pressure to move your teeth in place.

Clear aligners, such as Invisalign, are custom fitted to straighten your teeth without the use of traditional wire braces. Clear aligners provide added convenience for eating, brushing and flossing. The aligners are comfortable and easy to wear, and almost undetectable to be seen by others.
Treatment begins with a consultation with our orthodontists. Once determined that you are a candidate, a model of your teeth will be created on the computer to provide a step-by-step customized plan. You will see a visual representation of what your teeth can look like upon completion of treatment. A new set of aligners is provided approximately every two weeks. Each aligner gently shifts your teeth into position. The amount of time and number of aligners worn varies depending upon your treatment plan.
Choosing clear aligners offers a convenient alternative to traditional metal brackets and wires. It also decreases your chances of getting tooth decay and plaque buildup during orthodontic treatment.
We can help you achieve straight teeth and a beautiful, healthy smile. We are dedicated to providing you with an enjoyable orthodontic experience. It is our top priority to deliver high quality care in a comfortable and convenient setting.
